Fine Lines & Wrinkles FAQs
What is Wrinkle Relaxing?
Wrinkle relaxing is a procedure that involves the injection of Botulinum toxin- a prescription only medication in to the muscles to relax the fine lines and wrinkles that are caused by movement of the muscle. You may hear wrinkle relaxing called Botox, Azzalure or Bocouture these are all brand names of Botulinum Toxin used for wrinkle relaxing.
Which areas can be treated?
Botox is very commonly used on the forehead muscles used to frown, to raise the brows in surprise and the muscles around the yes used for a squint and smile.
It can also be used on other areas such as the chin, nose and around the mouth. Downturned mouths and wrinkles around the lips can be relaxed but dermal fillers are often recommended as the first choice in treatment during consultations.
Botox can also be used for the underarms to reduce perspiration.
Consultations are free and always recommended to thoroughly assess and plan treatment.
Is the treatment painful?
Botox is injected using very fine needles and only a slight scratch can be felt. The procedure takes only a few minutes once the consultation has been carried out and the injection points have been marked with a cosmetic pencil. Most customers are very comfortable having this treatment.
When will I see a result?
Botox will start to take effect around 3-5 days after treatment and the full effect up to 14 days after treatment.
For full Botox treatments a two weeks review appointment is offered to review the result and consider whether further Botox is required.
Baby Botox is a very popular treatment for those customers who prefer a much more natural result this is a standard price for three areas to reduce movement slightly and very lightly soften the wrinkles.
What are the possible side effects of Botox?
